"I'm just a girl...standing in front of a boy...asking him to love her." -Anna Scott (Julia Roberts) in "Notting Hill"
To get the life that you want, sometimes you have to lay it all out on the line like Anna Scott. She knew what she wanted, she knew it was a risk, but she went for it anyway. Anna Scott was choosing bravery.
This is not just about love. To get the life you want it is time to be honest! Share how you feel and what you want without any fear of judgement or rejection. I'm realizing now I was stuck in 2019, overwhelmed with my family, underwhelmed with my career, and broken from lost love.
In September of 2019 I was let go from my radio job in Sacramento, called off my engagement (in the same week), and was overwhelmed with keeping up with my 3 kids competitive sports schedule. It was a breaking point. Then covid hit!
By September of 2020 I landed a better syndicated radio job and local host for 103.9 The Fish in Sacramento, found freedom and happiness in my singlehood, and with all sports cancelled because of the pandemic finally had free time with my family to bond. We decided NOT to go back to the club sports world and instead spend weekends together and make church attendance a priority (even if it was on the couch).
2020 gave not just me, but all of us the perfect excuse to completely change it up. It's the shocking plot twist that none of us saw coming. Now it's time for us to finish the rest of the movie. I don't know about you, but I want the happy ending like in Notting Hill, not a cliffhanger in a M Night Shyamalan film.
In order to do that, dig deep and lay it all out on the line like Anna Scott.
I'm just a girl...standing in front of my boss...asking for a promotion
I'm just a girl...sitting at this title company...buying my own home.
I'm just a girl...standing in front of a boy...asking him to love her
The life that you want to life is waiting for you to go chase after it.
